About the event
Graham Turnock was Chief Executive of the UK Space Agency from 2017 to 2021 during which time he initiated and led the UK launch programme, negotiated Space’s Brexit and grew the size and activities of the Agency threefold. He has recently served as a Special Advisor at the European Space Agency, Secretary General of Eurisy, a Euroean space think tank, and is currently a visiting fellow researching the governance of space debris at All Souls’ College, Oxford. This talk will look at what space debris is, why it is a growing problem, what is being done to address it and ask whether existing efforts go far enough.
